Using a Sigma 180 f5.6 APO macro on the EM-5

I have created a new album in which I am showing the images I get as I explore this combination. The key points I have learnt so far are that the depth of field is incredibly thin but pre-setting the aperture of the lens using an old EOS 500 film body helps improve the images. (The kipon adapter has its own Iris but I find this is not effective with this lens)

My most successful shots so far have been when using the FL36 flash in manual FP mode and setting the EM-5 to SAF, single focus point with 10X magnification and  shutter speeds of in excess of 1/640th. Pre-setting the aperture to f8 - f11 seems to work best, with my preference being for f8 to balance shutter speed with DOF.

For a £100 - lens the results are very satisfying (if more difficult to obtain than when using a dedicated m4/3rds lens with AF)

More on this later
