The Joy of Printing
For me, the image isn't complete until I hold the print in my hand. So yesterday I spent some time printing out a few of the images from the previous day's studio session.
It reminded me yet again just how well the HP9180 + Hahnemuhle Photo Rag combination works .
I proofed one of the images using Jessops Satin photo paper and whilst the image was OK it lacked real punch.
When I reprinted it using the Photo Rag (308gsm) paper the difference was remarkable. The colours were rich and saturated, skin and hair detail was crisp and sharp and there was a tactile quality that you could almost feel to the felt of the hat and fabrics of the clothing
The extra cost of using professional quality materials is well worth it. Mike and Jas will be delighted with their prints and I could have a couple of exhibition winning prints as well
