canon 70-300 f4 -f5.6 LIS with Kenko 1.4X TC

29/11/2010 - 15:25
I took this lens out for a serious work-out this morning, particularly to see how it coped shooting moving birds with my Kenko 1.4 TC pro 300 attached.
I have previously determined that for static subjects its OK and will even AF quite well but from today's experience I would not recommend it for use when shooting moving birds at a distance, I was shooting at 70-100 ft from the subject. Focus was erratic and not really as sharp as I need.
I wouldn't recommend using it with this TC with auto focus

(It may be OK with manual focus but I was specifically trying AF today)

I HAVE JUST NOTICED THAT THIS TC IS IN FACT THE DG VERSION NOT THE NON-DG AS I THOUGHT!
